IT'S TIME

Turning 65 can be a joyful milestone, celebrating your life and the adventures ahead. This age opens doors to new experiences and friendships that can enrich your journey.

Let’s embrace this exciting chapter together!

Your Initial Enrollment Period

Your Seven Month Initial Enrollment Period

Your Initial Enrollment Period begins three months before the month you turn 65 and ends three months after your birthday month.

For example, if you turn 65 in June, your enrollment window runs from March 1 through September 30.

  • Enroll before your birthday month: Coverage can generally begin the month you turn 65.

  • Enroll during or after your birthday month: Coverage generally begins the following month.

If your birthday is on the first day of the month, Medicare treats your eligibility as beginning one month earlier.

Some people are enrolled automatically, while others must sign up through Social Security. Delaying enrollment without qualifying employer coverage may result in late penalties or gaps in coverage.
